Sharing your burdens with your Chaplain

The need for medical care for many Veterans, family members, and friends, may trigger anxiety, feelings of loneliness, and spiritual distress. Chaplain Service is committed to providing high quality pastoral care as a part of the healing process. The VA Chaplain is a Healthcare Professional who can provide quality pastoral care for all; providing care for the broken in heart, experiencing emotional stress, and moments of high anxiety.  The Chaplain is available to you, to confidentially and reflectively listen to your greatest concerns, feelings, and emotions, and help you find peace of mind. Our goal is the Healing of the Soul.

Grief Support Services

It is impossible to fully comprehend the pain and hurt you are feeling at your time of loss, or when confronting the reality of a frightening diagnosis. You may find great relief by sharing your feelings and emotions with the Chaplain. Bay Pines VAHCS Chaplains are available to provide grief and bereavement counseling and support.

For more information, please call (727) 398-6661 Ext. 14894, or 15547 at the Chaplain’s office directly, or just the last the five digits extension numbers to reach a hospital chaplain when you are at the hospital.  Care Notes designed to help you work through your grief are available upon request.

Prayer and Pastoral Support

The essence of pastoral care is our belief in a God who cares and wants to support us in our daily walk. And prayer to our great and awesome God is an integral part of our ministry. Faith is a vital force influencing, among other things, health and wholeness. When a health crisis occurs, the crisis also affects you spiritually. Your faith is your most important resource to assist you in facing the crisis and dealing with the spiritual aspects of your health.  Chaplains are here to provide Pastoral Care that can assist on that journey.
