Letter to the Community: Upcoming Naples Community Based Outpatient Clinic Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
October 22, 2018
On behalf of the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, I am pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Naples Community Based Outpatient Clinic located at 800 Goodlette Road North, Suite 120, Naples, FL. The new facility is almost twice as large as our Horseshoe Drive location and will open to serve patients at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018. The new clinic will effectively replace the existing location.
To celebrate the occasion, we will host a short ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m. We anticipate the ceremony to last approximately 30 minutes with clinic tours following. If you are available to attend the event, I encourage you to do so.
A larger Naples CBOC has been a long time coming and something our healthcare system has been working to Veterans for the last three years. The truth of the matter is we outgrew the old clinic location and needed to pursue relocation and expansion to accommodate the growing number of Veterans seeking VA care in Naples and the increased workload. In addition to delivering a larger clinic, we wanted to ensure building construction was modern and designed to meet VA’s Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) standards. I am certain when you walk into the clinic you will see that we achieved our goals in service to America’s Veterans.
For a little history, we have maintained our Horseshoe Drive location since 2000. Since originally opening more than 18 years ago, the Naples CBOC has experienced continued growth in both the number of individual Veterans accessing the facility and number of appointments requested and completed. Over the last seven years alone, the number of patients served by the facility and appointment completed have increased 12 percent respectively. Today, the clinic serves nearly 7,500 Veterans while completing about 44,000 appointments annually.
Over the last several years, we have aggressively sought to improve clinical services by expanding health care access and meeting the needs of our Veterans. Naples has been one of our larger focus areas, and I am extremely pleased that our professional and competent staff will be providing care in a beautiful and modern clinic to America’s Heroes.
To conclude, I hope to see you at the ribbon cutting ceremony this week. If you cannot attend, please feel free to share this information with others who may be interested. This is a big win for the Veterans in Naples, and I am glad you can be part of it.
