October 18, 2018

Bay Pines, Fla. – The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) will open its new Naples Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) to serve Veterans on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. The new clinic is located at 800 Goodlette Road North, Suite 120, Naples, FL.

The clinic will effectively replace the Horseshow Drive South location effective the same day. Veterans who have appointments scheduled at the Naples CBOC on or after Oct. 29 will be seen at the new clinic.

To celebrate the occasion, the Bay Pines VAHCS will host a short ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m. The ribbon cutting event is anticipated to last approximately 30 minutes with clinics tours following. The event will feature brief remarks from VA and community leaders and traditional ribbon cutting activities. All are invited to attend.

“This is great achievement for the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, our Collier County partners, and most important the many Veterans we serve at the Naples CBOC,” said Paul M. Russo, Director/CEO, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.

“A larger Naples CBOC was a promise we made to Veterans several years ago, and on October 29 we deliver on that promise,” he said.

The Bay Pines VAHCS has have maintained its Horseshoe Drive location since 2000. Since originally opening more than 18 years ago, the Naples CBOC has experienced continued growth in both the number of individual Veterans accessing the facility and number of appointments requested and completed.

Over the last seven years alone, the number of patients served by the facility and appointment completed have increased 12 percent respectively. Today, the clinic serves nearly 7,500 Veterans while completing about 44,000 appointments annually.

All health care services currently available at the Naples CBOC will transition to the new facility. These services include primary care, mental health, women’s health, clinical video telehealth, anticoagulation clinic, electrocardiograms (EKG), nutrition and weight management services, chaplain (Thursdays), phlebotomy (blood draws and specimen collection), social work, and pharmacy consultation.
