Veterans and Families Invited to Attend VA Open House Events on Nov. 1

Veterans and their families are invited to participate in Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) open house activities at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, Fla. and Lee County Healthcare Center in Cape Coral, Fla. on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Both events will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • The open house event at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center will take place in the JC Cobb room located on the first floor of building 100 (main hospital building). Driving directions and a map can be accessed here: Driving Directions and Map.
  • The open house event at the Lee County Healthcare Center will take place in the main lobby located on the first floor. Driving directions and a map can be accessed here: Driving Directions and Map.

Information and available resources for Veterans will include VA health care benefits, VA benefits (non-medical), volunteer opportunities, VA employment information, women Veterans services, suicide prevention, services specifically for Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and New Dawn Veterans, and more.

Vietnam Veterans who attend the events may also receive a special commemorative lapel pin, along with several other items, as part of the Nation’s continued observance of the 5oth Anniversary of the Vietnam War.

The open house events are being held as part VA’s nationwide kickoff for Veterans Month (November, 2017). The goal of the nationwide effort is to raise awareness about the services offered to Veterans by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA).
