Veteran Viewpoint Episode 8 - A Heartfelt Thank You

September 10, 2017

Mr. Lee Davis, a former U.S. Army Air Corps pilot, is one of nearly 7,000 World War II Veterans who trust the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System for their care.

At 92 years young, he was delivered difficult news about his health, and would have to decide where to spend his final days.

In mid-August, Lee, with his best friend Ruthie the dog by his side, visited leaders and staff to give a heartfelt thank you for the care that has been provided to him over the last decade. It was important to him to let those closest to him know how much they positively impacted his life.

As more than 200 Bay Pines employees and about 100 patients brace for Hurricane Irma and shelter in place at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, Lee’s story is an important reminder of VA’s commitment to Veteran’s and the importance of service over self.  Click here to see the full video story.
