The VHA Communications Awards were established to recognize excellence in communications within the VHA.  The awards encourage improvements to the quality and impact of communications programs and entries provide examples of best practices across the communications.  This year’s award entries could be submitted in two general categories, public relations tactics and public relations campaigns, and several subcategories such as print, broadcast, digital media (web and social media), special events and more.

“There are so many good news stories that occur within our organization every day.  From a lifesaving medical treatment and innovative research to assisting a homeless Veteran secure permanent housing and celebrating the service of our dedicated Volunteers – there is not a minute that goes by that we cannot celebrate the work we do in service to America’s Veterans,” said Suzanne M. Klinker, Director, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.

“Our success and recognition during the 2016 VHA Communication Awards truly illustrates our commitment to informing and educating Veterans across the communities we serve,” she said.
