MEDIA ADVISORY: Local VA Leaders to Hold Press Conference Aug. 3

BAY PINES, FL. – Local VA leaders representing the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), and National Cemetery Administration (NCA), will hold a joint press conference on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center. The activity will take place in the main lobby of the Radiation Oncology building (building 107).

VA officials present for the press conference will include Ms. Suzanne M. Klinker, Director, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS); Dr. Dominique A. Thuriere, Chief of Staff, Bay Pines VAHCS; Charles R. Arnold, Assistant Director, Bay Pines National Cemetery; and Kerrie L. Witty, Director, St. Petersburg VA Regional Office.

During the event, leaders will discuss local progress, achievements and programs as well as organizational challenges and needs in the years ahead. Particular focus areas will be progress made in the areas of Veterans’ access to VA health care services, disability claims processing and Veteran homelessness. This media event is one of many being conducted at VA facilities across the country during the first week of August.
