Lee County Healthcare Center Reopens Following Temporary Closure

January 22, 2015

BAY PINES, FL - The Lee County Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare Center located at 2489 Diplomat Parkway East in Cape Coral, FL reopened at 12:00 p.m. today, January 22, for patient care and administrative services.

The facility was temporarily closed on January 20 due to a water main break and associated repairs. Repairs were completed the same day, however, additional maintenance and water testing were required. As part of Florida Department of Health (FDOH) requirements, the facility was also placed on a boil water notice while required water safety testing was completed.

Today, at approximately 11:00 a.m., FDOH notified VA officials that water samples taken during the last 72 hours are satisfactory and meet all state requirements.

Patients impacted by the closure will be contacted by a member of their health care team via telephone or to reschedule as appropriate.

Veterans are encouraged to contact the Lee County Healthcare Center at 239-652-1800 or their health care team with any questions.
