BAY PINES, FL – The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) announces the release of Veteran Viewpoint episode two as part of its ongoing video series that highlights personal VA health care stories from Veterans residing in southwest Florida.

Episode two features VA patient and U.S. Navy Veteran Bob Hurt who said he was destined for military service when his mother dressed him in a sailor outfit at the age of one. He later went on to serve nine years in the Navy from 1962 to 1971.

After being honorably discharged from the military, Bob lived a successful life as a business executive and eventually retired due to illness and the desire to dedicate his time to his loving wife and children. Shortly after his retirement, he sought care from the Bay Pines VAHCS and never looked back.

Recently, Bob sat down with staff at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center to share his personal story about the lifesaving care he has received from VA and his special relationship with the employees who dedicate their lives to America's heroes. Click here to watch Bob’s story.
