VA Partners with Tampa Bay Bucs for Military Resource Fair Nov. 4

October 31, 2012

BAY PINES, FL – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8) is partnering with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to host a Central Florida Military Resource Fair on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Raymond James Stadium's East Club from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All Veterans, active duty military, and returning troops are invited to attend this free, exclusive event to learn about employment opportunities and VA benefits (including VA health care).  The job fair will include Federal, State and local employers plus interview skill development and resume assistance.  Counselors will be on site to provide information about VA benefits and health care enrollment.

Flu shots and medical screenings will also be offered to service members as well as opportunities to meet Buccaneers alumni and cheerleaders who will be available for autographs and photos.  Also, the first 2,000 service members to arrive will receive a $10 gift certificate towards concessions, which will be half price for all guests.

All attendees are asked to bring a copy of their resume as well as a Military or Veteran I.D. or a DD214 form to show their military affiliation.

Staff from the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in St. Petersburg, and the Orlando VA Medical Center in Orlando will be on site to provide information and assistance to Veterans in their service areas.

"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are proud to work with our Veteran Medical Centers to support those who serve our country," said Buccaneers General Manager Mark Dominik. "We realize the great sacrifices our military continue to make for us, and hope this event will provide some assistance to local service members who are so greatly deserving of our community's support."

Immediately following the Resource Fair, the Buccaneers' 4:05 p.m. game with the Oakland Raiders will be televised live on the East Club's giant video monitors at Raymond James.

Those interested in attending or learning more about the Resource Fair may sign up in advance at
