Health Education
The staff at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System have provided a number of ways for you to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle and self-manage your own health. There are many ways for you and your family members to become more informed and take an active role in your health care. We want you and your family to know about your health and how to best take care of you. There are a variety of programs, materials, and activities available. Programs are held on diabetes, cardiac care, weight management, M.O.V.E., stroke, oncology, smoking cessation, specialized support groups, and other health topics.
Tell your primary care team if you want to sign up or if you need additional information. Your primary care team may also arrange for other materials (models, audiotapes, pamphlets, etc.) for you and your family to look at or they might ask you to visit the Patient Education Resource Center (PERC).
