This new VA owned Healthcare Center will replace the current leased Fort Myers VA Outpatient Clinic, located at 3033 Winkler Extension. The new facility is a comprehensive outpatient facility designed to accommodate the changing needs of Veterans in the region.

Services currently offered at Fort Myers location that will be expanded at the new outpatient center include:  primary care, mental health, audiology, cardiology, compensation and pension exams, Coumadin clinic, dermatology, eye care, gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures, home and community care, x-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, neurology, nuclear imaging, nutrition counseling, orthopedics, pharmacy consultation and medication pick up, podiatry, prosthetics, rheumatology, tobacco cessation, Telehealth, telephone call center, social work, spinal cord injury, urology, dental, women’s care, and phlebotomy.

Once opened, VA will have greater capacity to provide healthcare to a population of over 202,000 Veterans in southwest Florida.

A grand opening ceremony will be planned with details to follow.  If your Veterans Service Organization is interested in assisting with the opening ceremony, please contact Derenda McCook at 727-398-6661 extension 5505.

In 2006, VA purchased 30 acres of land at the intersection of Diplomat Parkway and Corbett Road, Cape Coral, Florida.  Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) completed the facility design in 2009 and later that year, construction was awarded to Manhattan Construction based out of Naples, Florida.  The site ground breaking was held in January 2010.
