Upcoming Changes to the Manatee County VA Clinics
In order to meet the growing needs of veterans in the Manatee County area, Bay Pines VA has been approved to consolidate the Ellenton Primary Care Clinic and the Bradenton Mental Health Clinic into one location. A lease has been signed with Morgan Johnson Inc. for a property located in the Morgan Johnson Office Park at 5520 S.R. 64, Bradenton, FL which is close to I-75. The new clinic will be 12,455 square feet, a considerable increase in the amount of space currently available to provide veterans healthcare and will offer expanded primary care teams, a women veterans healthcare team, mental health services, pharmacist staff, social work staff, phlebotomy services, and some specialty services (such as eye care, dental, and imaging). VA is currently working with the property owner to build the new clinic. Once the new clinic is opened (expected April 2010), the current Primary Care and Mental Health locations will be closed.
