BAY PINES, FL —The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) will host a short ceremony to commemorate the activation of a new 500-space parking facility on Oct. 11 at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place outside the new structure located adjacent to the Bay Pines VA Medical Center.
On the day of the event, the first 200 patients and visitors who park in the facility will receive a voucher for a free 16 oz. drink. Vouchers will be available starting at 7:30 a.m. and will be distributed by volunteers located near main pedestrian entrances/exits inside the garage.
The new parking facility officially opened to patients and visitors on Sept. 18 increasing total parking capacity at the medical center to about 3,000 spaces. The facility is one of several completed or ongoing construction projects occurring across the Bay Pines VAHCS.
“It is wonderful that we are able to continue building and expanding our services to benefit our nation’s heroes,” said Suzanne M. Klinker, Director, Bay Pines VAHCS. “The new parking facility has provided much needed parking and has had an immediate and beneficial impact on our medical center campus.”
The parking facility activation ceremony is open to Veterans and their families, VA employees, volunteers and members of the local media.
