Bay Pines, FL – Dr. Jorge Villalba, Neuropsychiatrist at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System was presented an award by the Special Forces Association for his work with Service Members and Veterans who’ve sustained traumatic brain injury and other neuropsychiatric disorders.  The award read, “for dedication and duty for treating individuals who bear the scars of war.”

Dr. Villalba began working at Bay Pines 4 years ago and currently runs a clinic where he treats very complex cases which involve physical, medical, neurological, and psychiatric needs.  He attended the Universidad Central Del Este, School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic and completed his post graduate work at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds three board certifications. He has over twenty years experience in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with traumatic brain injury and related conditions.  He also currently serves as the Medical Director at the Florida Institute for Neurological Rehabilitation in Wauchula, Florida.

The award was one of few presented by the Association and Dr. Villalba very humbly accepted it stating, “It’s my pleasure and honor to assist these brave men and women who have so proudly served our country.”
