Bay Pines VA Healthcare System

Partners and Education

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research.

Academic Partners

Bay Pines is affiliated with the University of South Florida College of Medicine* and Nova Southeastern University, School of Osteopathic Medicine*. We offer residency training in all major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. Associated Health Training is offered in nursing, psychology, audiology, dental, dietetics, and pharmacy.

Bay Pines has increased our residency slots from 26 to 29.4 medical residents.  We have increased from 3 to 4 dental resident slots.  We have trained 93 residents in the 26 residency slots for this academic year. Training is also provided to over 700 medical students, nursing, and associated health trainees annually.

Veterans Service Organizations

Bay Pines maintains a good working relationship with all of our veteran service organization (VSO) partners. We regularly brief our VSO representatives on changes impacting veterans' health care.

A Veterans Advisory Council (VAC) has been established which includes stakeholders from a number of veterans groups. The VAC meets quarterly.

US Department of Defense

Bay Pines is a participant in the US Department of Defense TRICARE Program.
