The Joint Commission Accreditation*
In 2013, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System received full accreditation from the Joint Commission (TJC) in our hospital, long term care, home care, and behavioral health programs. In addition to accreditation, TJC recognized the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in 2013 and 2014 as a Top Performer in key health care quality measures.

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System was the first VA site in the state of Florida to receive Stroke Certification.
Commission on Cancer Accreditation*
We are VA medical center in the state of Florida to be accredited by the Commission on Cancer our Cancer Program.
The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System was recognized in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as a "Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality" by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization. The Bay Pines VAHCS earned top marks in meeting non-discrimination and training criteria that demonstrate its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBT patients, and their families, who can face significant challenges in securing the quality health care and respect they deserve.
The Department of Veterans Affairs selected Bay Pines VA Healthcare System as the 2010 recipient of the Robert W. Carey Circle of Excellence Award, the department’s top honor for quality achievement. Bay Pines received awards from the Department in 2008 for Performance Excellence and in 2009 for the Robert W. Carey Trophy; making this the third consecutive award.
