The Joint Commission Accreditation

In 2007, Bay Pines VA Healthcare System received full accreditation from the Joint Commission in our hospital, long term care, home care, and mental health programs.

CARF Accreditation

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System has three programs that are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

• Medical Rehabilitation Program
• Domiciliary Homeless Program
• Transitional Work Experience Program (this program was previously known at Compensated Work Therapy, CWT)

Chest Pain Certification

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System received a Level 2 accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers; we are the first VA site in our region to receive level 2 accreditation.

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is the first VA site in the state of Florida to receive Stroke Certification.

American Heart/American Stroke Association Award

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is the FIRST VA in the nation to receive the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The GuidelinesSM–Stroke (GWTG–Stroke) Silver Performance Achievement Award. The award recognizes Bay Pines’ commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
