Staff - Psychology Internship

Currently, the Psychology Staff  includes seventeen doctoral level Clinical and Counseling Psychologists and one Health Science Specialist. The mission is to provide high quality psychological services to medical and psychiatric patients within the context of cooperative, multi-disciplinary teams. In addition, staff are highly committed to the training of new professionals and are actively involved in the Internship training program. Individual as well as interdisciplinary research opportunities are found throughout the Healthcare System.

Organizationally, Psychology is one section of the Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences Service. The two primary disciplines in the service are psychology and psychiatry. The Chief is a Psychiatrist and the Assistant Chief is a Psychologist. Staff psychologists are assigned to a variety of areas in the medical center. This diversity in assignment is augmented by diversity among our staff as well with a variety of theoretical orientations, past clinical and administrative experiences, and multiple research/clinical specialties.

Administratively, three sections of the service are managed by psychologists (i.e. Center for Sexual Trauma Services, Psychology, and the Substance Abuse Treatment Program). Staff psychologists participate in a number of profession-specific and System-wide committees that address issues relating to quality of patient care, efficient delivery of services and development of new programs.
