Selection Process - Psychology Internship

 
  1. Applications are reviewed for completeness.
  2. Completed applications are reviewed by current Interns who as a group make recommendations to invite applicants for interviews.
  3. Training Director discusses and reviews the recommendations submitted by the Interns.
  4. Members of the Training Committee review and rate application packets.
  5. Director of Training finalizes the list of applicants invited for interviews.
  6. Letters are sent to all applicants notifying them of selection decisions.
  7. Interviews are scheduled.
  8. Each perspective Intern is interviewed individually by three members of the Training Committee, the Director of Training and current Interns. Interns provide feedback to the Director of Training.
  9. Ratings of application packets and interviews are compiled and an overall rating is generated.
  10. The Training Committee meets to discuss ratings and rank applicants.
  11. The Director of Training submits final list to APPIC for matching.
  12. After the match list is posted, matched applicants are contacted by the Training Director.
