Application Process - Psychology Internship

Third or fourth year graduate students in APA approved clinical or counseling doctoral psychology training programs who are interested in applying for an internship position in our program are required to submit:

  1. APPIC APPLICATION FOR PSYCHOLOGY INTERNSHIP Prepared by the applicant (available on APPIC* website)
  2. APPIC Verification of Internship Eligibility and Readiness Completed by University Director of Training (available on APPIC* website)
  3. Vita
  4. Current official graduate transcript(s)
  5. Three signed letters of reference from faculty members or practicum supervisors who know you and your work well.

Complete application packets (all application forms and materials listed above) must be received by us by November 13, of the current year for consideration for internship appointment beginning the following August. Please enclose all materials in a single envelope.

Interviews will be conducted by invitation only, following initial evaluation of application materials. Applicants invited for interviews will be notified by November 30, and an interview date scheduled during the months of December and January.

Policies and procedures regarding internship offers and acceptance recommended by the Association of Psychology Post-Doctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and the Council of Directors of Clinical Training Programs will be followed for the appointment of Interns to the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, Psychology Internship Training Program.

The internship site agrees to abide by the APPIC Policy that no person at this training facility will solicit, accept or use any ranking-related information from any intern applicant prior to Uniform Notification Day.
