Goals - Dietetic Internship Program

To produce competent, entry-level dietitians possessing the skills necessary to practice in a variety of food and nutrition fields as measured by: Ninety percent of interns who the begin program will complete it. Upon completion of the program, 90% of graduates will agree or strongly agree, in the Program Evaluation, that the program prepared them for practice in a variety of settings. Eighty percent of graduates who seek employment will have positions in dietetics within 6 months of program completion. Employers will rate graduates average or above when surveyed within one year of graduation on the Employer Survey. First time pass rate of the RD exam over a 5 year period will be equal to or greater than 80%. To prepare graduates to meet the needs of the VA Health Care System, Florida, and the nation for registered dietitians as measured by: Eighty percent of graduates who seek employment will have positions in dietetics within 6 months of program completion. Thirty-three percent of graduates will be employed in the VA Health Care System within 5 years of graduation. To prepare dietetic professionals who participate in professional development and life-long learning as measured by: In alumni surveys, 33% or more of graduates report pursuing advanced positions, specialty certification or graduate degrees.
