Goals - Dietetic Internship Program

  1. To produce competent, entry-level dietitians possessing the skills necessary to practice in a variety of food and nutrition fields as measured by:
    • Ninety percent of interns who the begin program will complete it.
    • Upon completion of the program, 90% of graduates will agree or strongly agree, in the Program Evaluation, that the program prepared them for practice in a variety of settings.
    • Eighty percent of graduates who seek employment will have positions in dietetics within 6 months of program completion.
    • Employers will rate graduates average or above when surveyed within one year of graduation on the Employer Survey.
    • First time pass rate of the RD exam over a 5 year period will be equal to or greater than 80%.
  2. To prepare graduates to meet the needs of the VA Health Care System, Florida, and the nation for registered dietitians as measured by:
    • Eighty percent of graduates who seek employment will have positions in dietetics within 6 months of program completion.
    • Thirty-three percent of graduates will be employed in the VA Health Care System within 5 years of graduation.
  3. To prepare dietetic professionals who participate in professional development and life-long learning as measured by:
    • In alumni surveys, 33% or more of graduates report pursuing advanced positions, specialty certification or graduate degrees.
